Storage & SAN Driver Development – Windows 2000, Linux
Azure has engineering team with expertise in building Host side Device Drivers for a number of
operating systems. The range includes Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Linux. Azure has already developed specialized Device Drivers for Storage (SCSI Miniport, Monolithic and Class drivers), Network re-directors drivers required in the SAN product.- One of Azure's project is on Software RAID implementation for Windows platform. The RAID algorithm and features (rebuild, check consistency and others) storage filter device driver are written to implement the RAID. Azure has also developed the GUI management utility for configuration and monitoring the system.
- Azure has developed ScramNet Drivers on LINUX & RT LINUX over PCI Bus. ScramNet - Shared Common RAM Network is an ultra fast data communication system for use in real time computer systems.The speed of the PCI Bus is dependent on the ScramNet hardware. Scramnet Drivers for Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server are also being developed.
- Based on the ScramNet Driver on LINUX & RT LINUX, Azure has developed a GUI based application software ScramDiag. This application is used to diagnose the ScramNet card - read and write card memory, read status registers and write to control registers.
- Azure has developed specialized Storage driver-Network Driver set for implementing iSCSI protocol. Drivers, similar to Windows SCSI port and Network Redirector drivers, work in tandem to make storage devices on remote machine visible over standard NIC card. The protocol for communication was a scaled down version of iSCSI.
- Some modules of a full-blown iSCSI implementation have been developed
in firmware. The module handles iSCSI Login Phase
and full feature phase with provision for multiple TCP/IP connection over a single iSCSI session. - Azure developed SCSI driver on Linux for interfacing with Fibre Channel Tachyon chipset. This is then ported to RTLinux to work as the underlying device side of iSCSI SAN solution.
