Distributed System Performanec Monitoring System(DSPMon) consists of an Embedded Application running on a low-powered processor with network interface. The core processor runs an RTOS, which provides network connectivity (TCP/IP on Ethernet), basic memory management support and process control. The only process, other than the system processes, running in this system, is responsible for gathering system information from all the systems in the network vicinity. In a Software only Version for Windows, this processor is emulated in a Software component, running on Windows OS.

The Server will communicate with this core processor and enquire the consolidated information periodically. The information will be shown using the Servers resources (Monitor and graphical sub-system) in a graphical presentation.

System is fast with minimal loading on Network communications. The collected data of the Device List may be stored at a Database for maintaining the device attach to a particular Computer. Every time the machine boots it will check the device list in background and any hardware missing, will be reported to the Administrator. If required, Administrator also may include or exclude devices from the list. Log book will be maintained for the excluding devices.

- Firmware should support multi-threading and interrupt driven operation.
- No secondary storage media required
- It provides an intuitive and user-friendly GUI to view the data in graphical representative forms like Bar-chart or graph.
- Alternatively, the data can be viewed in raw binary format
- The collected data can be stored for further analysis in CSV format with time stamp.
- The GUI also provides method to study and analysis the data of different machines in a single window for comparative study .
- Simple analysis of data and reports can also be generated at any point of time
